About
Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman has been Director of the ART and Reproductive Genetics Unit at Istanbul Memorial Hospital since 2000 and practises at the IVF, Andrology and Genetics Center of Memorial Şişli Hospital. She trained as a medical doctor at Hacettepe University (1973–1981) and completed specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Ankara University Medical School (1983–1989). She became an assistant professor at Ankara University in 1994 and a professor at Yeditepe University Medical School in 2004. Before joining Memorial she was Director of ART at Sevgi Hospital in Ankara (1993–2000). Her listed experience includes a period at fertility centres in Norway (1991–1992) and, in 1996–1997, at the Schoysman Infertility Management Foundation in Belgium, Weill Cornell's Center for Reproductive Medicine in New York and the Reproductive Genetic Institute in Chicago. Her publication list includes many papers on preimplantation genetic diagnosis and IVF. She speaks English.
