About Suzhou Municipal Hospital Reproductive Medicine Centre
Formed in 2004, the Reproductive and Genetics Centre at Suzhou Municipal Hospital was the first unit in Suzhou licensed by the Jiangsu health authority for assisted reproduction and preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and it delivered the region's first ICSI and first PGD babies. It now spans roughly 4,877 square metres with more than 90 staff, and combines infertility, andrology and genetic-counselling clinics with embryology, PGD, cytogenetics, prenatal screening and newborn screening laboratories. The centre reports close to 4,700 assisted-reproduction cycles a year, an IVF-ET clinical pregnancy rate held above 50 percent and a clinical pregnancy rate near 70 percent after embryo genetic testing.
