About Sistina - Centre for IVF and Reproductive Medicine
The assisted reproduction department at Skopje's Acibadem Sistina hospital produced the first IVF baby born in North Macedonia, under Dr Slobodan Lazarevski, who performed that first successful cycle. It was also the first unit in the country to adopt PICSI sperm selection, and offers ICSI, TESE and TESA, laser-assisted hatching and vitrification of eggs, embryos, testicular and ovarian tissue, with no upper age limit for treatment. Donor gametes are sourced through the First Egg Bank in Ukraine and the Cryos sperm bank in Denmark. The hospital publishes its patient information in Macedonian, Albanian and English.
