About Lam Wah Ee Hospital Fertility Centre
The IVF department on the third floor of Hospital Lam Wah Ee, an independent charitable non-profit hospital in George Town, has provided fertility treatment since 1993 and recorded its first IVF birth in 1995 and its first baby from a vitrified embryo in 2011. Embryos are grown to the blastocyst stage in a cleanroom kept under positive air pressure so that single or double transfers can be made on day five or six. Services span ICSI, testicular sperm retrieval, oocyte and embryo vitrification, frozen transfers and intrauterine insemination, with in-house counselling and pharmacy.
