Now trading as Pesterzsébeti Reprodukciós Intézet within the Dunamenti REK group, this Budapest centre began in 1990 as a working group at Jahn Ferenc Dél-Pest Hospital in partnership with Semmelweis University, moved to its Kossuth Lajos utca premises in Pesterzsébet in 2001, expanded in 2019 and finished a third building in 2024. Medical director Dr. Forgács Vince leads a compact group of obstetrician-gynaecologists, two of whom are also endocrinologists. The laboratory works with blastocyst-stage vitrification and time-lapse embryo monitoring, and the institute says it was the first in Hungary to move to transferring single five-day embryos, in 2022, reporting a 40% clinical pregnancy rate in patients under 40.
