Embryon has been treating patients in Limassol since 2016 and is run as a husband-and-wife partnership. Dr. Monica Efstathiou, a founding member and head of embryology, holds a master's in clinical embryology from Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, studied embryo freezing under David Gardner, and reckons she has worked on more than 24,000 IVF cycles across Greece, India, Spain, Poland and the UK. Dr. Sotiris Efstathiou heads gynaecology and is an accredited laparoscopic surgeon whose focus is diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent pregnancy loss and transfer technique. The clinic takes on surrogacy, egg and sperm donation, embryo adoption, oncofertility with ovarian and testicular tissue freezing, and treatment for women over 50, and its coordinators discuss care in the patient's own language and help arrange travel for those coming from overseas.
